Ah, but Benjamin Franklin didn't live to see how developed nations today are "selfishly exploiting" undeveloped countries' natural resources!

He was probably also a racist who believed that black people are inferior to whites!

I'm a great admirer of Benjamin Franklin.

No nation was ruined by trade, but free trade can hamper some developing economies, especially if they are discouraged from diversifying.
